Who is Henry Walker?

Hi there. I am Henry Walker and this site is devoted to stuff about me, and my interests. There is a brief history below about me to give you an idea of who I am. Current details are well, overstated. My age does not really matter, if you are really that interested I live in Coopers Plains, which is a suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. While writing this page I was wondering who the hell would care, but I suppose it does give you an idea about some of the stuff about me.

What are my interests? I suppose, mostly they could be divided up into a couple main headings. I am interested in History, most periods in fact and a great deal of cultures. I am mostly interested in military history, but I can find interest in all sorts of different areas. It is this love of history which led me to join the SCA and also do my degree and honours qualifications in the area. I have the personal belief that only through studying history can we find ways of solving the problems of the current eras, and if we do not learn from history we will be doomed to make the same mistakes.
I have mentioned the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) above, but there is much more to be told about this than can be put in this part so I have left a complete page devoted to it. The SCA has supplied me with some very interesting areas to research, a great hobby to have, and a great deal of close friends.

My interest in the rapier comes mainly from my participation in the SCA’s Period Fencing, and I have another page for Rapier  information. These pages I hope will cover various aspects of this weapon. I have also done quite a bit of research into this weapon and its use in combat. I have written a couple of articles some of which I hope to get published, and others which I will leave on this website for people who are interested to access.

Role-playing is another of my past times. I find it to be a great way to exercise your mind and also to try out things that you could not in real life. I got into role-playing through some friends and have never looked back. I am also interested in strategy gaming and enjoy chess. Gaming in its various forms is great; it really allows you to exercise your mind. 

I have various other interests, which I have not noted on this page, these are the main ones I suppose. They are also the ones, which I would think that people, would be interested in. Oh well, I could be wrong.
